Sometimes in our lives we feel sad, afraid, worried, angry, confused, depressed or abandoned.

It may be that we have put our needs on one side to help others. We act and behave in certain ways in order to fit in.

There are times when we choose not to ‘burden’ friends with our problems but still feel the need to talk.

At times like these, many people turn to someone who will;

-   listen attentively without judgment

-   give support and not advice

-   help discover strategies to cope with

    difficulties

-   support change that results in living a

    healthier life

…is always the hardest.

If you have a problem, recognizing it and seeking help does not mean you are weak, self-indulgent or crazy.

Emotional problems do not go away by being ignored. There is a link between psychological and physical health.

The suppression of strong feelings can lead to a variety of concerns and symptoms such as headaches, sleep disturbance, aches and pains and a lack of energy. It can also lead to under or over eating and alcohol abuse.

I believe we are all born capable of giving and receiving love.

In our childhood we make decisions about how to live, some which enable us to grow and others that limit our potential. In the light of adult experience and information we may want to make some changes.  Self-acceptance is the basis of self-exploration and development.
